Well the short story is that I am a Metho-byterian-episco-chari-nite with a long Brethren heritage that I only recently realized. I am a practitioner and teacher of the Jesus Way. I love God, I love the church, I love my family, I love my friends and I love my enemies. My life mission statement is: Like David I will be a man after God’s own heart; I will use all my gifts, talents and resources to help people become everything that God created them to be; I will serve the Lord in my generation and then I will die.
I was first called to serve the Jesus Way as a missionary with Youth Evangelism Service. I was a team leader, with my wife Beth, of a young adult team for a year. We practiced street evangelism and open air tent meetings to help start a church in Bari, Italy in 1987. After that year we were asked to return to Sicily as long term missionaries. We accepted the invitation and served nine more years as church planting missionaries. We were privileged to participate directly in planting five new Mennonite churches in Sicily and Italy.
Upon returning to the United States in August of 2000 I entered seminary at Eastern Mennonite Seminary and began serving as Associate Pastor at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. I served for six years as pastor of Praise Fellowship, an alternative service that met in the Fellowship Hall and during that time completed my MDIV.
In the last six months of our time in Harrisonburg, VA we had a vision for a new church plant in Harrisonburg and, with others, founded The Table that currently meets at Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
In the summer of 2006 we were invited to serve in our current roles (I am lead pastor) at Neffsville Mennonite Church. We have three children, Sarah, Chris, and Harrison.
